  • Writing them up the same day, quickly

Course overview.

Capturing decisions and actions accurately while the meeting is still moving.

The 3 hours works through 7 modules and 20 individual topics, from Minute taking in context to Practice and role-play. Each one is taught then practised — you do the thing rather than watch it done — against situations from your own work.

Groups are kept small enough that everyone speaks more than once, and the facilitator is in the room the whole time rather than dropping in. You leave with the PDF courseware and notes in your own words.

Who it is for.

Anyone whose job depends on other people. There is no prerequisite and no assumed seniority — individual contributors get as much out of the day as team leaders, because the situations are the same ones.

How it runs.

A half day, roughly 9am to 12:30pm, with a facilitator in the room the whole time. It runs in a CBD training room in any of the six capitals, or live online in breakout groups.

What people said about Minute Taking

4.49
from 35 reviews collected by Nexacu

Wizard courses run on the shared Nexacu schedule, so these are reviews of this course from people who sat it. Collected by Nexacu after the course and published as written.

I felt that your teaching style was very self-led which I respect is a technic, but I also feel like we came here for you to teach us minute taking conventions. If we knew what we were doing, then we wouldn't be here. Having said that I do feel that my questions were answered and I enjoyed the activities and ultimately, I definitely feel like I got what I needed out of the course.

Lots of good discuss and examples. One element we didn't cover in depth was terms of reference for meetings.A couple of good examples would help define the meetings and set expectations of scope.

Questions

Questions People Ask About This Course

Anything not answered here, call 1300 886 190 and ask a person.

How long is the Minute Taking course?
It runs for 3 hours, 9:00am – 12:30pm, with a facilitator in the room the whole time. Nothing is pre-recorded and there is no platform to log into afterwards.
How much does Minute Taking cost?
$499 per person, excluding GST. That covers the course, the PDF courseware and the room. If four or more people from one organisation need it, an in-house course usually works out cheaper — tell us the numbers and we will price both.
Do I need any experience before this course?
No prerequisite. The course is built around discussion and practice, so what you bring from your own work matters more than any prior training.
Can I do Minute Taking online instead of in a classroom?
Yes. Every date marked “Live online” runs over video with the same facilitator and the same practice, in breakout groups rather than around a table. It suits teams spread across states.
Which cities do you run Minute Taking in?
Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney, plus live online. Every venue is a CBD training room. If your city and date are not paired on the schedule above, ask — dates are released in blocks.
Can you run Minute Taking just for our team?
Yes — that is in-house training. We come to your office, or you use one of our rooms, and the course runs for your people alone using your own scenarios. More on in-house training.

Four or more people? In-house is usually cheaper.

The same course, your people only, built around the situations they actually face.
