Which course does this team actually need?
Placing people by job title does not work. Placing them by what they can already do on a normal Tuesday does. Three questions, then a straight recommendation.
What kind of skill is the gap?
Software people use at a keyboard, or the human side of the job.
Which program?
Pick the one the work is actually done in.
What is going wrong?
Pick the closest — we will show the course built around it.
What can they already do?
Be honest rather than generous — the wrong level is the most common reason a day is wasted.
Why this beats a job title.
Two people with the same title routinely need different days. Someone who has used Excel for ten years may never have written a lookup; someone six months in may already build pivots. The only useful question is what they can do without help right now.
When the answer is a mixed group.
If half the team belongs in one level and half in the next, splitting the group beats averaging it. Averaging loses both halves. Tell us the spread and we will price it both ways — usually two in-house days cost less than one wasted public booking each.
When the answer is not a course at all.
Sometimes the gap is a process rather than a skill — a report assembled by hand, a template nobody agreed on. We would rather say so. That is what consultancy and customisation is for.
Still not sure?
Describe a normal Tuesday and we will place them for you.
